There has been a lot on the news over the last few days around processed meats compared to just red meat.

It is not supprising the results around sausages with some of the additives in processsed meats.

Processed meats can have up to 4 times the amount of salt of red meat.
Procesed meats also contain preservatives like nitrate, nitrites and nitrosamines.

From the study perfromed 42% where at a higher risk of CHD coronarty heart disease for consumption of procssed meat.
Red meat was not associated with diabetes.
