These products have caught my eye a few times in relation to the health benfits but after starting to read the book "Aloe Vera the Medicine plant" by Dr Peter Artherton i could not put it down!!

I could not believe the properties that just one plant could have .Healing and cosmetic properties which mankind has benefited from for thousands of years .

The Aloe Vera gel is especially good for people that suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and i am now encouraging this group of clients to take this on a daily basis in conjuction with a cleansing programme.

I would be interested to know if anyone else is using this "medicine plant" with their clients and the results they have had.

I have seen other anecdotal reports (eg in this article http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,8125-1479105_1,00.html) from people that Aloe Vera has helped them with their IBS. What I would like to know more is just what Aloe Vera they have used. Like many natural products, it is going to vary in its potency a bit, and there are so many different products available, some more pure and some more watered down, I wonder just what people have used.

Proper active manuka honey (eg Comvita UMF manuka honey) is another thing that is very good for digestive problems - I've used to it to stop a bout of diarrhea.

But also different people's IBS will be caused by different things, so appreciate that what works for some will not necessarily work for all. People should also pay attention to their diet to see if there are any particular foods that are triggers for them, and then cut out / reduce those foods.
